Loving the Blogosphere

This week there has been so much beautiful stuff floating around the blogosphere.

1) Thanks to EAD I found this beautiful blog and saw these stunning invitations.

*Sigh*. These are just SO beautiful. I love the honeycomb pattern that's picked up throughout the different pieces and I'm in love with the gorgeous calligraphy from Jenna Hein. Swoon.

2) SMP have been doing a fashion feature and oh my it's been eye candy galore. Abby showcased recent work from Jenny Yoo and Saja.

I love the bold colours of these fabulous numbers.

More gorgeous colour from Saja:

3) Finally, I've just discovered Once Wed (yeah, yeah I know, where have I been?) which is an just an awesome site and I love this bride's beautiful blue accessories:

Now I'm heading out the door for a super long weekend. Hooray! See you next week.

Design Concept: Pink, Purple and Sunshine Yellow

It's been a while since the last design concept appeared here and as the weeks have sped by the weather outside is slowly changing. Despite the gorgeous sunshine last weekend, the nights are slowly edging their way in and there's no denying that autumn is on its way. It seemed only right therefore to stretch the summer time out as far as possible with a bright and vibrant design concept.

So here it is, a feel good, Indian summer style concept. First of all I just love the combination of fuchsia pink and Cadbury's purple and the addition of sunshine yellow adds a new dimension to this full proof combo. I also love, love, love maids' dresses in different colours, it's a great way to add interest and bring out the different personalities of your best ladies. Finally, the invitation from Ceci New York is just stunning and the idea of walking through that yellow forest floor is well…heavenly.

I Heart: Monsoon

I love Monsoon and their uber delicate, feminine designs. They do a great range of affordable but beautiful dresses and I think it would be just about possible to dress all of your female bridal party from the one store.

For a flower girl I love this sweet headband and matching dress:

Bridesmaid wise I think this sophisticated number is perfect for a sleek urban affair:

Whilst for the Mother of the Bride, I think this evening gown is perfect:

Real Wedding: Mellissa and Scott

The last few shots from this beautiful vintage themed wedding:

There were some seriously stylish guests at this wedding (just the shoes were amazing) but this lady; the makeup artist, wins. She looked stunning and fitted in perfectly with the vintage theme.

Perfect finishing shot:

Thank you so much to Paul for these fabulous images. Go check out Paul's site for more serious eye candy.

Real Wedding: Mellissa and Scott - 1950s Vintage

The wedding was inspired by the oh-so-glamorous 1950s; beautiful gold edged china, vintage cake stands, scones and clotted cream. Delicious!

Those flowergirls were too cute for words. Their dresses were handmade by Natalie and her mum. I love this next shot, it could be straight out of a real 1950s wedding.

Real Wedding: Mellissa and Scott - The Preparations

I was so lucky to working with the immensely talented Paul White over the weekend. These magazine-worthy images are just SO beautiful and capture the spirit of the wedding perfectly.

Our beautiful bride Mellissa:

Can you imagine just how excited I was about these shoes, real Louboutins - they were amazing.

It was a real privilege to work with Mellissa and Natalie, they're sisters and very much best friends too. They made me wish I had a sister!

I am a lot in love with this image:

Acknowledging

I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge those who lost their lives and those whose lives were changed forever 7 years ago today. Here is to a fairer, safer, happier world.

Perks of the Job

So I've been taking it easy after a super busy week last week. We had a fantastic time at Mellissa and Scott's beautiful vintage themed wedding and will have some professional photographs to share with you later in the week. In the meantime, I wanted to be a show off...:)...Mellissa is a celebrity hairstylist and as a thank you present she very kindly got me this book (after I admitted I might have a small, unexplainable crush on a certain Mr Ramsay).

How exciting!

Busy Weekend

So its been a busy week at WBZL this week but tomorrow we're super-dooper excited to be going to Mellissa and Scott's marquee wedding. We're crossing our fingers and toes for good weather but know that whatever the weather this wedding is going to be a ball! Will hopefully grab a couple of photographs to show you on Monday (and I just know you're going to want to see these photos!) but for now I leave you with this beautiful cake that was featured on one of my favourite wedding blog The Bride's Cafe. I think this cake's florals are really orignal and Donna from Beautiful Blooms needs to get a gold star!

Beautiful!

Blogosphere

A couple of exciting things happening around the blogosphere yesterday:

1) Wedchicks. We were so excited (and so honored) to be featured over at the super-cool Wedding Chicks. Amy and Jocey are super beautiful and super-talented and it's so cool to be featured on their blog. Check the post out here and if you don't already, add Wedding Chicks to your reader.

2) Secondly Hello!Lucky posted on the highs and lows of being a self employed entrepraneur. This post is good it had me clapping and shouting "Amen sister". I echo all of their points and it was nice to be reminded that other people feel the same in this self-employed-wedding-industry-boat too!

Blackcurrant Purple and Soft Green

I imagine this type of wedding happening in the winter months, somewhere down to earth (perhaps a farm) and excited guests leaving footprints across frosty lawns. I'd love to see simple, rustic foods balanced by delicate (but quirky) calligraphy and floral arrangements with lots of silvery-grey greenery. In the evening I think some kind of traditional music would be perfect (a ceilidh perhaps), for favours I'd give away Welsh love spoons and for late night snacks I'd serve roasted chestnuts and hot chocolate - delicious!

Inspiration for this concept's colour palette came courtesy of Nordljus, a beautiful food & photography blog I stumbled across. Now a cabbage isn't normally something I'd want at a wedding (except perhaps on the menu) but I was really inspired by this beautiful photo. If you are in need of some food eye candy or just have a few minutes to spare be sure to stop by Keiko's fab blog.
