A Little Bit of Vera

Over the last couple of days one of my all-time favorite wedding blogs The Bride’s Cafe, has featured two gorgeous brides in the same to-die-for Vera Wang gown. It’s amazing how such different looks can be achieved from one dress!

Colourful Envelopes

There’s a significant birthday coming up in the Lingard household and to celebrate a big party is being planned at the beautiful Thornbridge Hall in Derbyshire.

As part of the celebrations we designed some invitations which needed grey envelopes to finish them off. Having prepared myself for a lenghthy trawl of the web I was slightly aghast when after about 10 seconds I found just the place, Colour Envelopes who do a massive range of shapes, sizes and colours – perfect if you’re DIYing your stationery.

Now, I just need to find a reason why I must wear one of these in the office.

Design Concept: Olive Oil & Balsamic Vinegar

Happy Monday everyone! We’re kicking this week off with a board inspired by the delicious combination of balsamic vinegar and olive oil.

olivebalsamic

This board is for the sophisticates amongst us; those who want to keep things subtle and refined and who recoil in fear at the thought of an in-your-face colour scheme. With more than a hint of Mediterranean influence, this wedding would be all about simple but amazing fresh food and making the most of the outdoors where possible. As a nod towards the initial inspiration for this board I’d place a small bottle of oil or vinegar at each place setting and would choose olives as a key ingredient in the starter or main. Yum!

I Heart: La Case de Cousin Paul

weddinglanterns

I am head-over-heels for the insansely cute lanterns over at La Case de Cousin Paul. These little beauties are fully customizable (be still my beating heart!) and not only can you chose the colour of each individual lantern, you can chose the colour of the wire too! The La Case de Cousin Paul website is pretty amazing and not only allows you to see the lanterns ‘illuminated’ but also what your fancy lights will look like against different coloured walls. The lanterns come in lengths of 20, 35 and 50 and aside from being perfect for decorating a reception space with, also make a great keepsake for your home after the wedding.

I Heart: Sweet Pea Flowers

We’re always on the look out for talented new suppliers so when Marianne at Sweet Pea contacted us to ask whether we’d like to come and see her portfolio, we jumped at the chance. Just like us, Marianne is passionate about stylish and unique weddings and we just love her soft, feminine style and how she uses texture to such great effect. Her designs look good enough to eat!

For Mother’s Day Sweet Pea are holding two flower arranging classes, perfect if you’re looking to do something with your mum that’s a little bit different. The classes are taking place at the fabulous Seven Dials in Covent Garden, London and are great value at £50 per person.  Each workshop will cover essential flower arranging tips and also give you the chance to create a beautiful spring arrangement.  The session will then finish up with tea and cake, my favourite! Contact Sweet Pea to find our more or to book your place.

Design Concept: Spring has Sprung!

pinkyellowspring

Spring is hands down my favourite season. This morning I woke to sunshine streaming through the window and it felt very much like Spring had at last, sprung. Perfect timing for this cheery, happy-go-lucky board. Happy March!
