When it comes to choosing music, couples are often bewildered with the sheer volume of choice. For a unique but still traditional entrance song, we love Gabriel’s Oboe by Ennio Morricone. Oiginally composed as the score to the film The Mission, the piece manages to be light yet emotional all at the same time.
We can just see the bridal party gliding down the aisle to this satiny song. Meanwhile, its smooth notes set the perfect stage for the big moment…the bride’s entrance!
I was lucky enough to contacted by another amazing accessory maker this week. Anna Johnson of A Alicia Handmade Accessories makes these unbelievably gorgeous corsages. Each piece is handmade, down to each petal being cut by hand, and offers a fresh, contemporary take on the idea of floral accessories. A testimony to how fabulous these things are, Anna’s work is currently stocked at the London Fashion and Textile Museum’s shop and was featured by them on their stand at Clothes Show London.
Perfect for bridesmaids, glamorous mums or even grans me thinks!
Louise Broad of Glamour Junkie was kind enough to contact me recently and let me know about her beautiful creations. Louise uses a method of fusing fabric with wool, silk and other fibres called Nuno Felting which results in a unique, ultra-light yet strong finish. Gorgeous! And what’s even better? Glamour Junkie has been accepted by Green Union as an ethical and eco friendly wedding supplier so you can have gorgeous accesories and a clear conscience too.
Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth’s unknown, although his height be taken
Love’s not Time’s fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle’s compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.
As strange as it may sound, I have a slight obsession with marshmallows; and bizarrely it’s actually more to do with how these sweet treats look rather than how they taste. So you can imagine my delight when I stumbled across Whimsy and Spice and their satisfyingly square creations. With exciting flavours like cardamom, chocolate and lemongrass these little lovelies would be a perfect additon to any Welcome Bag or Candy Bar.
Unfortunately the company only ship to the US at the moment, however I’m hoping that with enough blog love they might find their way over to Borough Market, even if it is just for the day!
We’re kicking this week off with this light, bright and breezy design board. The inspiration for this board came from these beautiful invitations by Hello!Lucky which are appropriately called Meadow and which we’re using for a wedding later this year. I love, love, love the Meadow design because it’s manages to be modern and chic yet still perfect for a classical country wedding. In the same way, the colour palette for this board focuses on crisp whites, grass greens and a splash of delphinium blue; a fresh and simple approach to the English marquee wedding.
