Scenting Your Wedding

So often at weddings, fragrance is something that’s completely neglected. Couples will spend hours deliberating over music, food, lighting and floral arrangements yet forget all about the importance of smell. Research has shown that scent is the quickest trigger for memories and emotions so it makes sense to incorporate this into a day you want to remember forever.

There are so many different ways to incorporate fragrance into your wedding from placing scented candles around your venue (our favourite are Diptyque) to putting a drop of fragrance on your invitations (be sure to do a spot check first). We love the idea of changing the scent as you move between your wedding breakfast and evening reception to really mark the change in atmosphere and add another dimension to the day.

Another great way to ensure your fragrance leaves its mark is to concoct a signature perfume just for your big day. The lovely people at Jo Malone encourage you to find your ‘little black dress’ fragrance by layering their different essences to create something special and unique whilst The Perfume Studio allow you to create an entirely bespoke fragrance and will even host a ‘Perfume Party’ in your living room! A great hen party option.
