Design Concept: Diamonds and Pearls

diamondspearlsWith a bitter chill in the air, there’s no avoiding that winter is well and truly here. Winter weddings can be really magical and if you’re getting married in the run up to Christmas but don’t want to go obviously festive, then this board is the one for you. Inspired by diamonds and pearls, this wintery concept uses golden tones to create a cosy ambience that’s perfect for a timeless winter wedding. It makes me want to go and curl up by a log fire with a glass of mulled wine. Lovely.

Design Concept: Wedgewood Blue, Ivory and Gold

More than ever, I’m finding myself influenced by the weather. I’m desperate for Spring but also loving the remaining clear, crisp days of Winter. So when the heavens opened and unexpectedly deposited half of Antarctica over London, I knew it was time for a board that reflected the delicate, ethereal quality of these last few Winter weeks.

This board is all about understated elegance. I love its timeless grace and the way the ivory and Wedgwood blue are brought to life by the slightest addition of gold.

Tea in beautiful cups, opulent macaroons, the stunning Blenhiem Palace, blossom centrepieces and blousy rose bouquets. All perfect for a beautiful, dream-like, post-winter, pre-spring wedding day!

Design Concept: Soft Latte

This board is inspired by last week’s beautiful Monique Lhuillier gowns. The soft tones of this edgy gown teamed with gorgeous coffee coloured pearls and cream merino wrap are just about perfect to me!

This board is all about keeping a neutral colour palette and playing with different textures. I love how the use of soft golds and creams give a slight vintage feel. And isn’t that picture of the library steps just amazing?

Design Concept: Blush Pink and Antique Gold

No matter the season or trend, blush pink will always be a favourite amongst brides. I have always loved the classic colour combination of this shade with antique gold and it’s absolutely perfect wedding material.

The inspiration for this concept comes from the gorgeous Charbonnel et Walker packaging. A few weeks ago I was walking around Liberty when the beautiful truffle boxes caught my eye. I managed to resist buying some just for the box but have been dreaming about the stylish packaging ever since.

For me this board is a girlie twist on the Timeless Elegance concept I featured back in June. I imagine this type of wedding to be quite formal with the bride wearing a romantic ballgown and the lighting being kept soft and low. For stationery I’d like to translate the truffle box using similar fonts and colours and as for food this wedding is perfect for those with a sweet tooth. I imagine a beautiful dessert bar serving pink meringues, madelines and doughnuts. Delicious!

Real Wedding: Mellissa and Scott

The last few shots from this beautiful vintage themed wedding:

There were some seriously stylish guests at this wedding (just the shoes were amazing) but this lady; the makeup artist, wins. She looked stunning and fitted in perfectly with the vintage theme.

Perfect finishing shot:

Thank you so much to Paul for these fabulous images. Go check out Paul’s site for more serious eye candy.

Real Wedding: Mellissa and Scott – 1950s Vintage

The wedding was inspired by the oh-so-glamorous 1950s; beautiful gold edged china, vintage cake stands, scones and clotted cream. Delicious!

Those flowergirls were too cute for words. Their dresses were handmade by Natalie and her mum. I love this next shot, it could be straight out of a real 1950s wedding.

Real Wedding: Mellissa and Scott – The Preparations

I was so lucky to working with the immensely talented Paul White over the weekend. These magazine-worthy images are just SO beautiful and capture the spirit of the wedding perfectly.

Our beautiful bride Mellissa:

Can you imagine just how excited I was about these shoes, real Louboutins – they were amazing.

It was a real privilege to work with Mellissa and Natalie, they’re sisters and very much best friends too. They made me wish I had a sister!

I am a lot in love with this image:

Design Concept: Timeless Elegance

At the end of last week, I was looking over my design concepts and realised that they all had very strong colour palettes and design themes. So I felt it was time for a change.

Today’s board is all about the beauty and elegance of a ‘classic’ wedding. With a much more subtle theme and palette, this board is influenced by the timeless elegance of the 1950s. The palette is all about ivories, antique golds and caramels whilst the celebration itself is wonderfully refined with warm lighting and perhaps jazz music?

As I collected photos for this board, I just knew I wanted a Vera and this a-line beauty is just the ticket. I love the understated beauty of this gown and I can imagine guests gasping with glee as the blushing bride takes her firsts steps down the aisle. And just how beautiful is that hairstyle? And the stunning calligraphy (oh how I wish I was a guest a Darcy Miller’s wedding)? I could go on…and on.

I have to admit that I find this style of wedding truly breathtaking. I know it’s popular and therefore could lack personality but I just love it’s elegant simplicity, timeless glamour and abundant romance.
